Do not miss the Super Videograph, a 225° wide screen movie, produced by Ivo Caprino, showing truly spectacular fjord, mountain and waterfall images. The nature centre conveys knowledge and experiences of biology, botany, glaciology, archaeology and ornithology. The centre is an unusual experience and is the most visited manmade attraction in Hardanger.
Hardangerviddahallen Restaurant combines culinary traditions, going back thousands of years, with the always fresh ingredients of the Hardangervidda plateau and modern-day culinary expertise. Reindeer roast and mountain trout are just two delicious examples of traditional food created through a long historical process in which man has learned to refine the rich ingredients found in the wild and beautiful nature. Built of wood and stone, the restaurant recreates the atmosphere of the rough mountain pasture and hunting cabins of the Hardanger vidda mountain plateau, where milkmaids, shermen and hunters would find shelter for the night and from bad weather. Around the fireplaces you get a real sense of camp fires and open hearths. In the historical building with its modern restaurant, which accommodates up to 200 guests, you can experience unique traditions combined with modern comforts.
