The Flåm Railway - Norway in a nutshell

This excursion takes you up into the high mountains, down to the deep fjords and through the most exquisite valleys.

From your base at Hotel Ullensvang, you first travel by bus to Voss then change to the train.

The Bergen railway runs from the northernmost stretches of the Hardangervidda mountain plain to Myrdal station. After a quick change of train, you will embark on the world’s most beautiful train journey, on the Flåm railway.

On this journey down the mountainside to the beautiful village of Flåm, you are bound to wonder at how on earth they managed to build a railway in such a wild landscape. After a break in Flåm, you continue by boat on a delightful cruise of the Aurlandfjord and Nærøyfjord.

These fjords are so narrow that they seem to be cut out of the high mountains with a sharp knife. The boat trip ends in Gudvangen, on the far banks of the Nærøyfjord, where a bus will be waiting to take you back to Hotel Ullensvang after a day of unforgettable adventure.
